Arrested: Yet another man who left bag unattended at 2 MRT stations to run errands
One man was arrested for causing public alarm after he left his bag unattended at two MRT stations along the North-East Line on Monday. The 37-year-old apparently did it so he could run errands — twice in one day — at Farrer Park and Outram Park MRT stations.
According to a statement from the police, someone left a bag at one of the exits of Farrer Park MRT station around 12:25pm, but returned to retrieve it before police officers arrived at the scene. Later on, at 2:10pm, the police were notified of another similar case at Outram Park MRT station, five stops away from Farrer Park.
As investigations were ongoing at the station, the man went up to the officers to claim the bag, which was found to contain a laptop, mobile phones, and computer-related items.

The police confirmed that this was the same individual who had also left his bag at Farrer Park station, and he had intentionally done so to run some errands.
Investigations are currently underway. If convicted for the offence of causing public nuisance, he could be fined up to S$1,000.
Guess he didn’t get the memo from previous cases of public nuisance at MRT stations recently. Like the man who caused more than 600 people to be evacuated when he left a bag unattended at Hougang MRT station. Or the one who left his luggage bag at Admiralty MRT station so he could hop over to a convenience store nearby. Train platforms are not bag deposit stations, people.
